The Wine Advocate:

Disgorged in June 2024 with a dosage of one gram per liter, Laval’s latest release of the NV Extra Brut Les Garennes is based on the 2022 vintage, augmented by a 40% contribution from a perpetual reserve initiated in 2013. Composed primarily of Pinot Meunier, with approximately 20% Pinot Noir, derived from Chambrecy, Damery, Cumières and Hautvillers, it opens with an aromatic profile of pear, citrus zest and dried flowers, though this is slightly marred by a trace of volatile acidity that makes its presence known on the nose. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, driven by bright acidity and culminating in a saline, bone-dry finish. (Kristaps Karklins)
