James Suckling:

Pale ruby with a dark, complex and vibrant nose of prunes, roses, violets, balsamic, licorice and restrained peach peel. On the palate this is concentrated, with a full body, firm yet ripe tannins and crisp acidity. Overall more powerful than elegant, but very refined in the finish. It could use a bit more depth, but with bottle aging it will increase in complexity.

The Wine Advocate:

The Giovanni Rosso 2020 Barolo Cerretta, with fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, is quite generous and ripe, owing to sunny vintage conditions. It opens to a dark ruby color and pretty concentration with perfumes that are fine and elegant; they recall lavender, wild berry, plum and rusty nail. The Cerretta vineyard delivers a lingering sense of sweetness, and that becomes a signature for this wine. These results are immediate and up front.

Wine Enthusiast:

Enticing aromas of cinnamon-dusted cedar and sandalwood intertwine with dried cherries, rose petals, and a hint of sage. This full-bodied wine boasts a firm structure, while the palate reveals blackberry and plum flavors. The chewy texture and intricate aromatics create a captivating and memorable experience that makes this wine worth the search. Drink 2026 - 2045
