Descripción

Tinto procedente de la afamada A.O.C. Médoc. El viñedo donde se cultivan las uvas de este vino está catalogado como Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, el único en su zona que cuenta con dicha distinción. Está elaborado con Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet franc y Petit verdot, coupage clásica que entrega un tinto en boca con una buena concentración de frutos rojos y negros, fresco, jugoso y persistente.

Nariz
Intensa, aromática y expresiva. Regala aromas de arándano y de frutas del bosque junto a notas de grafito y de nueces y una sutil mineralidad.
Boca
Potente, con cuerpo y, a la vez, equilibrada y elegante.
Temperatura de servicio
Se recomienda servir a 16 ºC.
Consumo
Hasta 2042, aproximadamente, si se conserva en óptimas condiciones.

Descripción
Viñedos ubicados en el oeste de la aldea de Potensac que ocupan una doble cubeta de arcilla-grava que alberga los mejores terrenos del campo.

Algunas viñas alcanzan los 80 años.

Argilo-calcáreos y arcillosos con piedra caliza.
Clima
Marítimo. Para la bodega, el año 2022 fue probablemente sea uno de los mejores en los últimos 20 años.

Vendimia manual.

Vinificación
Este vino se fermenta entre 15 y 18 días en tanques de acero inoxidable.
Envejecimiento
En barricas de roble francés, el 20% nuevas.

Opinión de los críticos

James Suckling:

One of the best ever with super currants, mint, mineral and iodine. Crushed stones. Medium- to full-bodied, it has wonderful caressing tannins that run the length of the wine. A real Potensac, cabernet-driven, that goes on for minutes. 43% cabernet sauvignon, 36.5% merlot, 19.5% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. Drink after 2028 but already fantastic and one of the best values of the vintage.

Decanter:

Fragranced, black bramble fruit, so scented and aromatic. Crystalline pure fruit, blackcurrants, cherries and plums, with grippy, but super fine and fresh tannins and balanced acidity. You get the structure - wide, firm, so refined in terms of tannic impression, they're at the fore but so discerning and integrated, really supportive and help to focus the wine from start to finish. Precise and sleek, agile yet concentrated with a lovely cool and juicy core alongside graphite and pencil lead touches. Powerful but polished and ageable. A great buy. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.64pH. 82 IPT.

Falstaff:

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate rim brightening. Fresh cherries, liquorice, tobacco nuances, orange zest in the background. Complex, taut, tightly meshed, dark wild berries, vivid tannins, mineral, still a bit shy on the finish, will benefit from ageing.

The Wine Advocate:

One of the sleepers of the vintage is the 2022 Potensac, a dense, concentrated wine redolent of crème de cassis, cigar wrapper and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, layered and youthfully structured, this will reward a bit of patience.
