Este aromático y sensacional Palo Cortado se obtuvo de la bodega Williams & Humbert en Jerez de una bota especial seleccionada por Paco Salas, el capataz de la bodega durante 33 años. Estamos ante un vino elegante, con una complejidad de notas muy sutiles y un largo posgusto.

The NV Colección Altanza - Roberto Amillo Palo Cortado is a younger wine than their La Saca bottling, with an average age estimated (not certified—at least, its not listed on the label) to be over 35 years of age. This is a bottling from July 2024, but like the rest of the range, there's no indication of the bottling date on the label. It has a pale mahogany color and an elegant and subtle nose, tender and nuanced, with hints of sweet spices, orange peel, nuts and varnish, concentrated and pungent with a long salty and bitter finish and a bone dry, chalky sensation. This comes in at 22% alcohol—the highest allowed—with a pH of 2.82 and 5.5 grams of residual sugar, a little high but still unnoticeable on the palate. This is so powerful and so focused with an array of grilled-cashew and almond aromas, as well as some spicy and toasted-bread character. Abundant rancio and spiced-orange to close. Super smooth delivery of the finish here. Drink now.
