Una garnacha world class

The Wine Advocate:

The single-vineyard 2024 Camino de Ribas, which wears the subtitle Parcela La Cóncova, includes all the grapes from the vineyard, which has two halves with slightly different soils, one side with more iron and the other side with more limestone. They also made the wine like this in 2023, and the combination proved to have more complexity than each plot separately. The varietal breakdown comes to 80% Garnacha, 10% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha Blanca. The grapes fermented with 40% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, and the wine matured in 500-liter barrels for 11 months. It's super perfumed, open, expressive and showy. I tasted it in a closed glass and in a larger one, and it bloomed in the large glass, because it has lower alcohol than any other vintage, 13.8%, but it doesn't lack ripeness, as it's the last plot they harvest. The nose is amazing and perfumed, all spring flowers, with some exotic spices—a little curry à la Vosne?—and the palate is not shy either; it's fine-boned, medium-bodied and has very fine tannins, purity, precision and symmetry. This is nothing short of amazing! It's their finest wine ever. Bravo! 3,100 individually numbered bottles produced.

Tim Atkin:

It’s been a pleasure to witness the rise and rise of José Gil over the last decade or so. This is a tribute to the wines of his beloved Burgundy, made with Garnacha, 15% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha Blanca from a young, eight-year-old parcel within La Cóncova. Fermented with 40% whole bunches, it’s a refined, ethereal, engagingly graceful wine with layers of pomegranate, blood orange and wild strawberry, fine-grained tannins and a lingering finish. 2029-40
