Descripción

L'Évangile es un maravilloso coupage elaborado en Pomerol. La casa conjuga con maestría la Merlot y la Cabernet franc. Si en los años anteriores la bodega se acostumbró a la preponderancia del Merlot frente al Cabernet franc, la distribución 2023 resultó ser mucho más equilibrada. Y es que como dicen en la propia casa bordelesa "nada se da por sentado, nada perdura".

Viñedo y elaboración

Descripción
Viñedo situado en una posición privilegiada en la meseta de Pomerol, entre Pétrus, La Conseillante y Cheval Blanc.
Clima
Las altas temperaturas vividas a lo largo del año climático 2023 aceleraron el proceso de maduración, revelando deliciosas notas de frutos rojos en la mezcla. Se alcanza el punto de inflexión y se acaba creando un equilibrio perfecto.
Cosecha
Vendimia manual entre el 4 y el 28 de septiembre de 2023.
Vinificación
Fermentación en tinas se realiza mediante el método tradicional de remontados y maceración controlada con degustaciones frecuentes.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 15 meses en barricas de roble francés.

Decanter:

Lovely, the is calm and collected, ripe but also really cool. Lovely texture, ample tannins but so well controlled that they fill the mouth but don't overpower. Lovely styling here, generous but elegance, powerful and concentrated but delicately delivered. This will have a great life and is just so enjoyable. One of the best Pomerols. Great texture.

Mesmerizing aromas of blackberries, bark and hints of dark mushrooms, violets and chocolate. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that are polished and very long, bright acidity and a long and vivid finish. Rather endless. 78% merlot, 21% cabernet franc and 1% cabernet sauvignon. From organically grown grapes. Best after 2029, but already a joy to taste.

Wafting from the glass with deep aromas of dark berries, spices, licorice and petals, framed by a sweet patina of new oak, the 2023 L'Evangile is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with a textural attack that segues into a supple, integrated core that's framed by sweet, powdery tannins. It's a blend of 78% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon, checking in at 13.5% alcohol, that was harvested between September 4 and 28.
