Anza Blanco 2024

The white 2024 Anza Blanco wants to be an austere and sharp white with moderate alcohol. It is clean, aromatic, complex and elegant with notes of fennel and aniseed, white fruit and flowers and an herbal twist with some spice. It is definitely savory, with nothing sweet about it. It was produced with Viura and Malvasía grapes from a 50-year-old plot in Santa Águeda and grapes from individual vines in other vineyards that are not co-fermented with the reds, pressed manually and fermented with the full less and aged without racking until September, meaning it spent 12 months in third-use barrels. It has contained ripeness, 12.5% alcohol and very good freshness, coming through as balanced, fresh and vibrant, with complexity and depth. It's mysterious and complex and has a magnetic attraction that makes you smell it over and over again. It should develop nicely in bottle. Only 621 bottles produced. It was bottled in November 2025.
