Simply delicious! This is a particularly elegant saca of De Alberto’s Dorado with loads of citrus peel, hazelnuts and salty cashews. It is very smooth and balanced with a truly fluid and velvety palate that is lifted by vibrant acidity. The wine offers a defined Verdejo character that combines with a classic fortified profile, preserving one of Spain’s great traditions. 2026-36. (Beth Willard)
An embarrassment of riches, emanating aromatic layers of walnut, dried fruit and caramelised apple. Deeply charismatic and umami-driven with a mouth-coating dryness and moreish velveteen texture which enthrals and glides towards the eternal finish. A memorable experience.
The NV De Alberto Dorado is one of the new old wines from Rueda, and one that seems to already be quite popular in Spain, perhaps because of the different presentation in a personalized bottle. It's a dorado white from Verdejo grapes produced in the old traditional oxidative way. It has notes of nuts and a volatile touch with a faint sensation of sweetness despite the fact that the wine is dry. It's approachable and easy to drink, in a more commercial profile. It's dry, with a slight bitterness in the finish and a volatile twist.
