"¿Es la añada 2022 una nueva 1982?". Con esta pregunta Château Siran presenta a la avanzada una cosecha prometedora que según el crítico de Vinous, Antonio Galloni, es una de las mejores que ha probado de esta casa. La Merlot se impone ligeramente a la Cabernet sauvignon en el coupage dando un vino sedoso, aromático y ya excepcionalmente pulido.

Viñedo y elaboración

Descripción
Viñedos ubicados en una hermosa meseta de la zona de Labarde y trabajados en virtud de una viticultura sostenible sin herbicidas químicos.

25 hectares.
Edad
Una media de 38 años, aunque las parcelas más viejas datan de 1920.
Suelo
Aluvial, con arenas y gravas silíceas.
Rendimiento
36 hectolitros por hectárea.
Cosecha
Vendimia manual en cajas pequeñas con clasificación también en mesas de selección. Tuvo lugar del 13 al 30 de septiembre,
Vinificación
Selección intraparcelar, fermentación en tinas de acero inoxidable termorreguladas con remontados periódicos. Maceración a 28-30 °C, periodo de encubado entre 8 y 10 días. Fermentación maloláctica parcialmente en barricas nuevas.
Envejecimiento
12 meses en barricas de roble francés de tostado medio y grano fino (el 35% nuevas). Durante la crianza se producirán dos trasiegos.

Opinión de los críticos

James Suckling:

The lead-pencil and dark-berry aromas are very persuasive here, and aromatic! Medium to full body with juicy fruit, velvety tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Creamy and pretty. Give it two or three years. Best after 2028.

Decanter:

A delightful Siran in 2022 that manages to give the density of the vintage while remaining joyful and extremely drinkable. Textured tannins make the first impact, coating the mouth and giving a touch of seriousness to the profile before a mouthwatering succulence comes in, lifting the strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. The soft fleshiness gives structure but this remains polished and quite sleek. A lovely Margaux to look out for with detail and drive.

Falstaff:

Deep dark ruby, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Red cherries, some liqourice and orange zest, floral touch in the underlay. Juicy, elegant, good fruit expression, good freshness, lingers long, subtle nougat on the finish.Good length, certain ageing potential, already accessible.
