Descripción
Quite es un vino fresco y alegre, elaborado con Mencía procedente de viñas viejas en Valtuille de Abajo, uno de los epicentros de la DO Bierzo. Valtuille es una pequeña localidad plagada de bodegas y de mentes enológicamente inquietas, como la de Verónica Ortega, su creadora. Su elaboración es singular, pues la mitad del vino se ha criado en barrica y la otra mitad en ánforas de barro cocido. El resultado es una Mencía 100% disfrutable.

I've been unlucky with this wine before, but the 2015 Quite was finally hitting it on all cylinders, with an earthy nose intermixed with heady and perfumed notes of violets and decayed leaves with a spicy twist, quite attractive and changing quickly in the glass. There is very good complexity here and the palate is elegant, with refined tannins and surprisingly good freshness given the character of the year and the fact that Mencía is never very high in acidity. Tasty, approachable and full of character. 25,000 bottles produced.
