Opinión de los críticos
The eponymous 2021 Alonso del Yerro was produced with grapes from different plots that were identified after a soil study of their 26 hectares of vines that were planted 39 years ago in the village of Roa. They don't use herbicides, and they do their own compost and use cover crops. The grapes were picked between October 4 and 15 and fermented in stainless steel. The wine matured in French oak barrels, oak vats or stainless steel for nine to 15 months, depending on the lot. This has lots of aromatic herbs and is showy and perfumed. The palate reveals abundant, fine-grained tannins and a long, dry and chalky finish. 65,000 bottles and 600 magnums produced. It was bottled in July 2023. - Luis Gutiérrez.
Miguel Alonso del Yerro was fortunate to produce his maiden vintage in 2021, and he's made the most of a very good growing season. Sourced from around 30 different parcels on this beautiful Roa estate, this pure Tinto Fino is structured yet elegant, with understated 8% new oak, top notes of sweet spices, fennel and mint, layered tannins and a nice interplay between blackberry and raspberry fruit. 2026-35
