I also tasted the 2019 Arenisca, produced with Tinta de Toro and 5% white grapes from a vineyard in the village of Villabuena del Puente within the appellation of Toro but sold as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León, as it was produced in their winery in La Seca outside the appellation's boundaries. It was produced in a fresher and lighter style, and in the warm and dry 2019 vintage, they picked the grapes quite early trying to keep the acidity. The wine is still close to 15% alcohol but has a medium body, primary notes of berries and iron and unnoticeable oak after one year in French barrels. The tannins are fine and the flavors fresh and defined. 6,350 bottles and 120 magnums were filled in May 2021.
