Nos encontramos ante la joya de la corona de Bodegas Alto Moncayo. Monovarietal de Garnacha, es uno de los embajadores de Campo de Borja y, además, está avalado por la crítica más influyente. Resulta complejo e intenso en nariz, tostado, mineral, con recuerdos de fruta en confitura. Potente y amplio en boca, carnoso, fresco y vivo.

Complejo e intenso, tostado, mineral, con recuerdos de fruta en confitura y torrefactos (café, toffee).
Boca
Potente y amplio en boca, carnoso, fresco y vivo, con gran concentración de sabor y excelente equilibrio, taninos de calidad, dulces y envolventes.
Temperatura de servicio
Se recomienda servir entre 14 y 16ºC.
Consumo
Óptimo desde el momento de la compra y hasta 2020. La bodega recomienda decantar.

Clima
Clima continental con veranos calurosos e inviernos fríos. Durante las noches de verano las temperaturas bajan, lo que permite moderar el crecimiento de la planta. La zona es muy seca y se caracteriza por tener pocas precipitaciones.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 24 meses en barricas nuevas de roble.
Embotellado
El vino no ha sido filtrado antes de ser embotellado.

The 2013 Aquilón is a selection of the best plots of vines as well as the best Garnacha barrels in the cellar, produced as an intense blending exercise. 2013 was a very late harvest after a cool, rainy year. This is always a powerful, juicy and well-oaked red, fermented to 16% alcohol with neutral yeasts and matured in brand new oak barrels, 80% of them French and 20% American. They finished harvesting on November 28, the latest ever, and the harvest was dry and the grapes healthy. This is definitely a different, fresher year for their wines, and this Aquilón shows it. It could be a bit atypical for this bottling, it was a short yield, with higher acidity and more freshness. It is a wine starting to be approachable now, but it should be very long-lived. Time in bottle has already provided a hint of tertiary aromas and polished the tannins. This has to be one of the freshest years of Aquilón. It has a very defined style, and within that powerful style it's very good. 4,164 bottles were filled in September 2015.
