Descripción

Atraídos por la excepcional calidad de sus suelos, en una de las colinas de gravas más famosas de Pessac-Léognan, Château La Garde forma parte del grupo Dourthe desde 1990. Esta añada entrega un vino con una gran concentración aromática, unos taninos firmes pero elegantes y un final persistente.

De color muy profundo, casi negro con reflejos morados.
Nariz
Elegante y aromática. Regala aromas de arándanos, de frambuesa y de violetas junto a notas especiadas.
Boca
Armoniosa, con unos taninos sedosos y con un final elegante y potente.

Se recomienda servir a 16 ºC.

Fermentación maloláctica parcial en barricas.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 12 meses en barricas de roble (37% nuevas) y una pequeña parte en ánfora.

Opinión de los críticos

Decanter:

Gorgeous blue fruits, cola, vanilla and blackcurrants on the nose. Sleek and fruity, a silky smooth texture initially before the crushed stone, liquorice and blueberry tannins come into play covering the entire mouth in a fine layer of chalk and powder. The fruit loses some push but the acidity is there giving life and freshness and the structure is clearly imposing, giving an impressive form overall. Lovely mineralit on the finish. Aged 12 months in oak barrels, 37% new, 6 batches in amphora. Harvest 8 September - 28 September. HVE certified.

Falstaff:

Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Inviting red cherry fruit, hints oftobacco and suede, a touch of orange zest. Complex palate, juicy, good fruit and freshness, mineral andlasting. Well balanced, nougat in the finish.

James Suckling:

The floral character of violets and lilacs comes out clearly on the nose with black fruits such as brambleberries. Medium-bodied, this has fine and creamy tannins and a savory finish. Crushed stone at the end as well as clean fruit. Shows plenty of potential for aging. A blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Drink after 2028.

The 2022 La Garde wafts from the glass with aromas of dark wild berries, spices, mulberries and licorice mingled with delicate oaky notes. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, it has a fleshy core of fruit framed by a gently assertive tannic frame and a long, mineral and pencil lead-inflected finish.
