The pure Garnacha 2016 Tossal de la Salut was bottled unoaked after some 14 months in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and fruit character of the wine. The year was warm, but the wine is only 13% alcohol, which gives an idea of the freshness of the zone where the vines are located at 700 meters in altitude. The nose is an explosion of wild herbs and flowers, aromatic, expressive and intoxicating, like a very warm summer day when all the herbs and flowers release their aromas as they are hit by the sun. This wine has light, freshness, elegance and power. The palate is medium-bodied, with great balance and freshness and rich flavors, a little decadent, and it has a long, dry and tasty finish. I love it. 1,600 bottles were filled in May 2018.
Pretty density and fruitiness here with crushed cherries and berries and some citrus. Medium body. Reserved and subtle fruit at the end. Drink now.
