Opinión de los críticos
The 2021 Valtuille Casares comes from a plot in one of the highest places in the village, reaching almost 600 meters above sea level. It's from a very old vineyard with the field blend fermented together in two 1,000-liter bins with 15% full clusters and indigenous yeasts. It matured in two well-seasoned 500-liter French oak barrels. It has moderate ripeness, 13.1% alcohol and very good freshness despite not having very high acidity, one of the characteristics of Mencía. It comes from higher-altitude vines, and the wine has that freshness, also reflecting the cooler year. This is open and expressive, a little like a Ribeira Sacra too, floral and delicate. 1,085 bottles were filled in February 2023. - Luis Gutiérrez.
