Descripción

Grand Cru Classé de Haut-Médoc, un clásico en la élite de los vinos del Médoc, con el que grupo Dourthe se asocia en 1979. Un proyecto que destaca por la finura, personalidad y profundidad de sus vinos, que muestran todo el potencial de las gravas profundas de este singular terroir. Suelos que ofrecen condiciones idóneas para variedades de maduración tardía como la Cabernet sauvignon y la Petit verdot. Esta añada fue especialmente cálida y seca, no obstante, las primeras impresiones de los críticos lo califican como fresco, vivo y con una prometedora evolución en botella.

Vibrante, potente y muy viva. Regala notas de fruta negra, de regaliz y de mentas y una seductora mineralidad.

Vendimia manual en pequeñas cajas. Tuvo lugar entre el 12 septiembre y el 1 de octubre.

Depósitos de acero inoxidable. Parte de la fermentatión maloláctica en barricas.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 12 meses, un 29% en barricas nuevas y una parte en ánfora.

Opinión de los críticos

Decanter:

Juicy, forward, bright and vibrant this has a great energy straight away, crisp and tannic, but well integrated so you get almost a bouncy palate with flint edges giving minerality and acidity providing the lift. Feels detailed and precise, lovely definition to the overall frame and this carries to a long finish. Impressive, I like the strength and the focus and it doesn't feel overripe or too extracted. So much to like about this wine with subtle liquorice, mint and crushed stone aspects. This will be excellent. HVE3 certified. Ageing 12 months in 29% new oak barrels, 6 batches in amphora. Harvest 12 September - 1 October. Tasted twice.

James Suckling:

Very perfumed with blackberry, violet and ink character following through to a medium body and extremely integrated tannins that are lightly chewy and really long. I am impressed with its cool nature and quality phenolics. A blend of 57% cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot and 4% petit verdot. Some of the cabernet and merlot are co-fermented. Needs three to five years of bottle age to begin.

Falstaff:

Deep dark ruby garnet colour with opaque core and purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Subtle herbalsavouriness, ripe red cherries, some cassis, a hint of clove, light nougat. Medium complexity, nuances of red berries, juicycherries, integrated tannins, mineral, good freshness, chocolatey finish, promising ageing potential."
