Peter Zemmer Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Crivelli 2018

A release of about 4,000 bottles, the Peter Zemmer 2018 Alto Adige Chardonnay Riserva Vigna Crivelli is a single-vineyard cru with lots of dimension and texture, drawing its fruit from the coveted Punggl zone. This wood-fermented Chardonnay delivers cumin, toasted almond and spice on a bed of creaminess, but there are no spiking aromatic highlights here because the peach, melon and spice are ironed out to complete the sensation of smoothness and submission.

A complex, structured chardonnay that carries the vanilla and spicy oak very well and hasn’t lost its citrusy and appley freshness during maturation in cask. In spite of 14% alcohol, this remains on the elegant side and has a light touch at the fairly oaky finish. Drink or hold.
