Parotet 2017

The 2017 Parotet is a blend of 90% Mandó with 10% Arcos that matured in 2,600-liter amphorae, where it also underwent malolactic after fermenting in stainless steel. This seems to have different profile—quite expressive and hedonistic. Most of the wines seem to be growing with each vintage, but this one is vibrant and seems to have gained in freshness and precision in a warm, Mediterranean year. They reckon the small percentage of Arcos is noticeable, and it's a grape in which they have invested and will be more present in their wines in the future. This wine has finesse, and the rusticity turns into a floral character that makes it very fine. 13,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2018. - Luis Gutiérrez.
