Lifted nose with complex aromas of kirsch framed by a herbaceous quality and peppery character. Velvey and round palate with a lingering finish.

The transformation of Marqués de Vargas continues apace under Javier Ausás and Ana Barrón, with the elimination of Russian wood and Cabernet Sauvignon from this estate wine. Now produced from Tempranillo with 15% Mazuelo and 5% Garnacha, this is wonderfully elegant and refined with granular tannins and succulent fruit. 2020-28
