James Suckling:

This firm, rich red shows the freshness of the appellation in a hot, ripe year like 2017. It’s full-bodied with chewy tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Fine tannins. Dried mushroom, walnut and bark undertones to the ripe berries. Solid wine. Drink or hold.

Decanter:

Nipozzano's Riserva Chianti Rufina is matured in barriques then bottle. From the notoriously hot, dry 2017 vintage, it has a subtle aroma of fresh red berries and spice, followed in the mouth by integrated, chocolatey tannins and tangy red fruit. The mid-palate opens up to reveal chocolate, sweet spices and a dash of black pepper, with black fruit, wood and tobacco notes on the persistent finish, carried by the acidity.
