The Wine Advocate:

The creamy, spicy and smoky 2009 Señorío de P. Peciña Gran Reserva was produced following the classical way, aging it in used American oak barrels for a long time (48 months) instead of what they do in their Chobeo range, where the wines mature in new oak for a short time. This has the textbook aromas of classical Rioja in a warm and ripe year—graphite, forest floor, truffles, sweet spices and berries in liqueur. The palate is medium to full-bodied with some dusty tannins and good acidity that would welcome some food. 15,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2013.

Decanter:

Developed characters of tar and fine oak envelope this fine example of Rioja in a shroud of complexity. It is slightly oxidative and bursting with flavour, with a lift of alcohol on the finish.
