Pol Roger Pure Extra Brut

The new release of Pol Roger's NV Extra-Brut Pure is showing nicely, unwinding in the glass with notes of pear, orange, pink grapefruit, smoke and rye toast. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and incisive, it's taut and tightly wound, with fine depth at the core, brisk acids and a pinpoint mousse, concluding with a dry finish.
A zero-dosage edition where ripe fruits make it an easy-to-love style. it has an array of ripe tropical and peach fruits on the nose. Really pure and fresh, this is attractive Champagne. The palate's reserved and crunchy, lead on by ripe peach flavor and a little melon and citrus. Great balance. Drink now.
Straw lemon colour then a nose of summer pudding and sour honey. The palate marries white chocolate, generous green fruit, and a hint of spice.
The nonvintage Champagne from this producer always has richness from the Pinot Noir in the blend. This bottling also has a touch of toast, showing some bottle aging. Put the two elements together and this satisfyingly ripe wine is ready to drink.
