The Wine Advocate:

Bottled only for the second time ever after the initial 2007, the 2014 La Rosa is a special selection of Syrah from the poorer parts of their estate vineyards with 14% Monastrell. This wine is only produced in truly exceptional years, so far every seven years! This is different from the 2007, as the 2007 had a shorter élevage, and the blend is a little different. This wine is only produced in exceptional years when the Finca Sandoval does not suffer from not having this grapes in its blend. I've seen more finesse in the 2014s, and this is no exception. This is still young and undeveloped and has yet to show the varietal notes of the Syrah that have started to appear in the 2007 bottling of this special cuvée. It's tasty and balanced, with tannins of good quality and better integration of the oak. It has less concentration than the regular 2012 Finca Sandoval that I tasted next to it. This is very good indeed. It was bottled in March 2017 after an extended élevage of 30 months in 300-liter oak barrels. 2,200 bottles and 100 magnums were produced.
