Descripción

Elaborado mayoritariamente con Merlot, aunque en su composición también interviene la Cabernet franc, este burdeos de la pequeña apelación Francs Côtes de Bordeaux presenta una excelente relación calidad-precio. Procede de suelos de piedra caliza y ofrece un estilo elegante, equilibrado y a la vez estructurado y fresco. 

La entrega de este vino está prevista en el segundo trimestre de 2025.

Viñedo ubicado en el pueblo de Saint-Cibard.
Superficie
6,2 hectáreas.
Suelo
Parte de composición calizo-arcillosa, sobre subsuelo de roca caliza, y parte de arcilla, en laderas.
Cosecha
Vendimia llevada a cabo del 14 al 29 de septiembre.
Vinificación
Fermentación de las uvas enteras en cubas de hormigón con 'pigeage' y remontados.
Envejecimiento
Crianza prevista de entre 16 y 18 meses en barricas de roble francés de 225 y 500 litros (el 40% en barricas nuevas y el 40% de un vino) y en depósitos de cemento (el 20% restante del vino) .

Decanter:

Juicy and fun, this has a playful edge that's really enjoyable, a sweet, mouthwatering cherry and blueberry flavour with tannins that are textured like ripe grape skins, fleshy and filling. Plump weight yet this remains still quite direct and focussed. Good energy and persistence with layers and bitter, minty, herbal spice on the finish giving the lingering and lasting impression, but well made. Really so effortless in the glass, appealing, full, weighty, lovely concentration - tannic strength but finesse and cool juiciness all the way through. Great quality and value. Tasted twice. Harvest 14 - 29 September. Ageing 16 - 18 months; 40% new barrel, 40% one wine (225L and 500L), 20% cement.Derenoncourt consultants.

James Suckling:

Plenty of fruit with well-integrated tannins. Medium body, bright acidity and a fresh and bright finish. Lots of crunchy fruit. Juicy.

Jeb Dunnuck:

The inky hued 2022 Château La Prade shows the richer, concentrated style of the vintage and has beautiful cassis and darker berry fruits, some spicy background oak, medium to full body, and a seamless, sexy, layered style that's already hard to resist. It's another terrific wine that's going to shine right out of the gate.
