The red 2018 Alagú Forcallat was cropped from a cooler, more continental vintage. It was produced in the same way as the 2017, with native fermentation with 60% full clusters and aging in used 500-liter oak barrels. It has a very pale, translucent ruby color and a delicate nose of flowers and herbs, aromatic and elegant. The palate is medium-bodied and has fine tannins that make it nicely textured, super tasty, serious and long. Really very impressive. They are learning to handle the variety, and this seems to be the way. 6,350 bottles and 260 magnums were filled in March 2019.
A pleasant red with dried strawberries, walnuts and hints of dried herbs, such as thyme. It’s medium-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh finish. Pretty vibrant. Drink now.
