Descripción

Ekam en sánscrito significa “unidad" y es el nombre del singular coupage de Riesling con Albariño de Raúl Bobet en tierras pirenaicas. Con carácter afrutado en su juventud, este blanco de guarda evoluciona hacia una complejidad mineral sumamente elegante, característica de los rieslings de clima frío, que sorprende y enamora. Se acompaña, además, de una acidez bien integrada y de un cierto carácter glicérico propio de los vinos botritizados.

Ligero color amarillo paja.

Intensa, con notas de melocotón de secano y flores finas de geranio.

Destaca su nota de albaricoque junto a una acidez bien equilibrada y un posgusto persistente e intenso.

Hasta 2028, aproximadamente, si se conserva en óptimas condiciones.

Viñedo y elaboración

Descripción
Viñedos situados a un altitud de entre 850 y 1.000 metros.
Suelo
Franco-calcáreo, con bajo contenido en materia orgánica.
Clima
Continental, con alto contraste térmico entre el día y la noche.
Cosecha
Vendimia manual en pequeñas cajas de 10 kilogramos de uvas procedentes exclusivamente de la propia finca, un pequeña parte con podredumbre noble.
Vinificación
Elaborado en pequeñas tinas de 25 y 50 hectolitros a baja temperatura. Cuenta con 5,6 gramos de azúcar residual y 7 gramos de acidez por litro.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 9 meses con sus propias lías.
Embotellado
En mayo de 2023.

Tim Atkin:

High altitude Riesling, planted at over 1000m above sea level. This is very Mosel in style, with its delicate, zesty frame, fresh green fruits, white flowers and petrol character. Off-dry and well balanced by the piercing acidity, this is a very convincing Riesling. It would be a nightmare to blind taste accurately, but a joy to drink! 2022-2034. 

The Wine Advocate:

The super pale, almost transparent 2022 Ekam is mostly Riesling with a splash of Albariño that fermented in small stainless steel tanks. Produced with ripe grapes, it achieved 13% alcohol with a pH of 2.9 and retained seven grams of acidity and 5.6 grams of residual sugar, and it comes through as a powerful kabinett style with an elegant and subtle nose. A small portion of the grapes had developed botrytis, which gives subtle aromas of lanolin and peach and density in the palate. It's balanced and elegant with the acidity compensating the sugar and with the dry, chalky texture form the limestone soils. 30,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2023 after nine months in tank with the lees. (Luis Gutiérrez)
