This is a bigger type of Bierzo with a full body and layers of tannins that are chewy and succulent. Lots of dark-berry and walnut character. Long and flavorful. A little old-school, but two or three years of bottle age will sort it out.

Very surprising wine for me. The more I try mencia red from Bierzo the more I like it. Strong wine, but super easy to drink. 5 stars.
