El Picón sells at a higher price, but I slightly prefer the current release of its stablemate, El Nogal. Ripe and plush, as the bodega's wines tend to be, but the 15.5% alcohol is well integrated here, framed by scented 50% new oak and supported by serious, concentrated damson, plum and blackberry fruit. 2027-35
