The Wine Advocate:
The 1/23 lot of the NV Palo Cortado VORS bottled in 2023 has a higher average age (30 years), as the winery has been incorporating additional soleras of very old wines they purchased in the last few years. But the wine's most remarkable feature is its finesse and complexity. It has a very pungent and saline nose and a velvety and elegant palate, nutty and faintly volatile, with a salty and bitter twist in the finish. It's a textbook Palo Cortado with creaminess, incredible elegance, balance and intensity. 2,200 bottles filled in October 2023.
Decanter:
Scorched sand and burnt sugar washed by seasalt and linden leaves: this wine has extremes yet they are pulled together in a silky, unctuous shell. Wine for meditation.
