The 2018 Garnacha shows more of the effect of the stems. They harvested earlier despite a cooler year, and the wine has less alcohol. The élevage was also shortened to nine months, and the result is that the wine feels simpler and a little more rustic, with an herbal twist. The palate is also lighter. It's pleasant, but not up to the quality of the 2016 and 2017. Perhaps the fact that production has grown to 29,000 bottles has something to do with that. In any case, yields were also higher in 2018.
