This is an overtly oaky style of wine that carries its ageing well. It is inherently rich and intense, reflecting its origins in 35 year+ vines grown on lime clay soils. It is fermented and aged in 500L French oak with light toasting that doesn’t mark the wine too much, instead bringing a savoury, green olive character and a little eucalypt freshness. Peach and green apple fill out the palate which is well balanced and underpinned by direct acidity. Should age well. 2024-28
