The Wine Advocate:

A textbook example of the category, the 2021 Viña Pedrosa Crianza shows riper fruit, darker than the El Pedrosal Crianza but also more complexity and depth. It has similar parameters, with 14.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.44, reflecting the freshness of the year. It has berry fruit, herbs and flowers with peppery and spicy notes. The palate is medium-bodied and the tannins fine and elegant. It should age nicely in bottle. 320,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.- Luis Gutiérrez.

Tim Atkin:

Produced in what Nuria Peña Albillo calls the "balanced" 2021 vintage, this is a very youthful Tinto Fino from the Finca Prado El Carril that has time on its side. Dense, firm and sweetly oaked in French and 40% American barrels, it's a focused, toasty, intensely structured Tinto Fino with notes of Asian spices, liquorice, damson and black cherry and a firm backbone of tannin and acidity. 2028-40

James Suckling:

Excellent balance here with well-judged oak spices to the blue and black berries. Cocoa powder, hazelnut, iodine and stones. The juicy berries and bright acidity on the palate renders energy and vibrancy. Drink from 2024. - Zekun Shuai, Senior Editor.
