James Suckling:

Perfumed, refined cassis with touches of black fruit, graphite, paprika and olives. Good purity of fruit, with bright acidity, a medium body and fine, polished tannins. Pretty long and linear, with a nuanced finish. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc.

Vinous:

The 2024 Baron de Brane is aromatic and brisk in its first impression. Strong floral and savory notes lead into a core of dark blue/purplish fruit. Lavender, spice, dried herbs and menthol open with a bit of time in the glass. In 2024, the Baron is gracious and inviting. Production will be down by about 50% because of selection, with many of the lots going into Margaux de Brane, the château's third wine. (Antonio Galloni)

Tim Atkin:

Lots of aromatic violet and purple fruit to scent. Some sweet spices. Rich in the mouth with well textured tannins and freshness. Not as fleshy as normal perhaps, but in no way lacking fruit and with good depth. The tannins manage ripeness and are fine and well integrated. Good length.

Decanter:

Cabernet aromatics, some blackcurrant leaf, dried herbs and soft cherry aromas. A touch creamy and cool on the nose. Quite sour and tart, but lively and not too strict or austere but with some bitterness on the finish. After a few minutes the floral aromatics come out, fresh and vibrant. It's really easy to drink, not so weighty but clean and clear with no harsh tannins. Definitely needed a light hand in terms of extraction and that’s what you get. Feels cool and classic. 40% production. 15.5% press. 3.52pH.
