The pungent and medicinal 2017 Red Wine 1 Pinot Noir has an intriguing herbal side, coming through as very different from the majority of Pinot Noirs. It took some time to open up and show some red fruit on the nose. The palate is also pungent and medicinal, with deep flavors and a somewhat bitter and salty finish. I found more rusticity this year than in previous vintages. 5,500 bottles were filled in September 2019.
