Matarromera Crianza 2020

Pine cones, dark chocolate, vanilla, walnuts, plush dark spices, blackberries and dark plums. Nothing overdone on the nose. Chewy and really structured on the palate, with sandy, grainy tannins. Long, medium- to full-bodied and creamy. Needs at least two more years to settle down. Drink from 2026.

Iván de Domingo calls on Matarromera’s extensive vine holdings in Burgos and Valladolid to produce this ambitiously priced Crianza. Stylishly aged in 50% new wood, it's an elegant, precise, refined style of Tinto Fino with textured tannins, plenty of chalky acidity and freshness and a core of plum, redcurrant and summer berry fruit. 2025-30
