Beginnings of spicy oak with plenty of cassis and damson black fruit. Brooding and inviting. Some silkiness on the palate with pointed cassis and dried bramble fruit, fairly serious spiky tannins and fresh acidity. This will need some time to come around, but has enough fruit weight to do so in around five to seven years.
Délicatesse des arômes, fruit bien défini, fleurs suaves, fumé, tout est harmonieux, la bouche est dans le même esprit, avec des tannins fondants, de l’allonge et une belle fraîcheur. Pointe de salinité en finale.
So aromatic on the nose - super expressive and vibrant in terms of scents. Cool cola, inky notes, graphite, liquorice and crayon. This has some glossy dark blue and black fruit with high but balanced acidity that really gives a lift. There’s a gentle chew to the fruit with just fleshy tannins that give a soft cushioned aspect while the minerality gives some freshness and bite. Focussed with excellent definition. Well constructed. So easy to drink this. A touch slim on the finish but I like the liquorice and wet stone lingering flavour. 3.69pH. Highest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Ageing 50% new oak.
From one of my favorite estates in the Graves, the 2024 Château Malartic-Lagravière is a blend of 56% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Boasting beautiful aromatics of black raspberries, cassis, spicy wood, and tobacco, it's medium-bodied and beautifully textured on the palate, with impressive mid-palate depth, a round, supple mouthfeel, and outstanding length.
Very fine tannins with juicy fruit that is focused and curated. It’s medium-bodied with a creamy texture and a long and persistent finish. Hints of spices and walnuts.
The 2024 Malartic Lagravière has quite a forward nose with blackberry and raspberry fruit. The aromatics lack the delineation and complexity of the 2022, but they do cohere nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, linear and nicely focused with quite firm tannins, a little more grip than its peers and a saline/black olive tapenade-tinged finish. Give it a couple of years in bottle. Dark ruby, deep core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. An inviting bouquet, with notes of plum, blackberry confit and a hint of nougat. Juicy and fresh, with notes of red fruits of the forest confit, integrated tannins and a salty minerality. A well balanced, charming food wine.
