Parada de Atauta 2021
Descrizione

The perfumed, floral and aromatic 2021 Parada de Atauta combines ripeness with freshness and elegance. It's not a shy wine at 15% alcohol but keeps the poise and harmony, with a round and tender palate, very fine tannins and purity of flavors. It was bottled after 12 months in French oak barrels, 20% of them new, and a further five months in concrete. 64,398 bottles and 2,767 magnums produced. It was bottled in September 2023.
Jaime Suárez calls this his "pleasure wine", but such is the age of the vines in Soria that it's still made from very old vines, most of them located on lighter, sandier soils. Stylishly wooded in 20% new wood, with concrete and foudre components, it’s sweet, spicy and slightly herbal, with savoury tannins, undertones of tobacco and earth and plenty of high- altitude acidity. 2025-32.
Lots of dark brambleberries, Morello cherries, violets, chocolate and blackberries. Juicy and nicely chewy on the palate, with a full body and a tight-grained finish. From the old vines of Atauta and Ines. Peppery and pretty long. Better in one more year. (Zekun Shuai)
