James Suckling:

This Salvora has aromas of lemons, crusted salt and hints of chamomile and other white flowers. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, round, concentrated and very harmonious. Made from a single vineyard planted more than 100 years ago. This is one of the finest single vineyards of the region. Drink now or hold. - Jacobo Garcia-Andrade Llamas, Senior Editor.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2023 Sálvora is among the finest whites produced by Rodrigo Méndez, from a centenary plot of Albariño, "O Torno" in his village of Meaño. This usually transcends the vintage, but in 2023, it shows the contained alcohol of the year (12.5%) and the vibrant and sharp profile, with a pH of 3.13 and 8.1 grams of acidity. There is a spicy twist on the nose; perhaps there was some newer oak in the 600-liter barrels where it fermented and matured for 12 months. But the wine will repay patience anyway, and with some time in bottle, the acidity and aromas should integrate. The palate is austere and serious, quite sharp, salty and tasty, vibrant, leaving an effervescent sensation that makes you salivate. I think this is the last vintage of this gem. 2,000 bottles were filled in September 2024. (Luis Gutiérrez)
