Guy Farge Cornas Reynard 2018
Beschrijving

The 2018 Cornas Reynard boasts considerably more richness and volume than the Harmonie. From less than two hectares of 40- to 50-year-old vines, it boasts cool scents of pencil shavings and crushed stone, then follows up with deep notes of mixed currants. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, it turns silky and elegant on the lengthy finish. Lovely stuff out of barrel.
This is full of energy, very concentrated, vibrant and intense. It has mouthcoating, fully ripe berry fruit with tannins that are like tiny teeth, they really sink in and grip you like a terrier. It’s powerful, focussed and very long with vibrancy, freshness, intensity and texture, coupled with a deeply saline and mineral drive. The oak isn't excessive, it's required, making it deeply spicy, peppery and expressive. From 30-year-old vines in the granitic quarter of Les Reynards, planted at 6,000 vines per hectare, yielding 20hl/ha. No destemming, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for a year in new 400l barrels. Drinking Window 2022 - 2035.
