A juicy wine with currants, cherries and touches of minerals and olives. Juicy and attractive on the palate, with firm, nicely chewy tannins and a fresh and pretty lengthy finish. 65% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 5% petit verdot.
Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicately nutty, a hint of black berries and nougat, subtle precious wood savouriness, candied orange zest. Juicy, medium complexity, ripe plum fruit, integrated tannins, mineral on the finish, has certain ageing potential.
Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2024 Château Lespault-Martillac should certainly be an outstanding wine. Based on 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot, it has a healthy ruby/purple hue and aromas of dark cherries, currants, smoky tobacco, and graphite. Medium-bodied and nicely layered, it has an elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and plays in the forward, supple style of the vintage. It should drink well right out of the gate yet still evolve gracefully in bottle.
Smooth and crisp, this has brightness and focus with quite high acidity that softens almost straight away with a softly chewy tannic backbone. Strawberry, raspberry and cranberry fruit. Calm and quietly charming. This will be ready to drink soon and will be an easy drinker. I like the finesse and the elegance of the expression.
