Descripción

Esta 2022 es la primera añada que el 3er Grand Cru Classé de 1855 Château Langoa Barton elabora en las instalaciones de su nueva bodega. Esto le ha permitido apostar por una vinificación más precisa de cada pequeña parcela por separado. El resultado es un gran exponente de Saint-Julien, profundo, con tensión, pulido y penetrante, que, juicio de la crítica, puede incluso superar las valoradas cosechas de 2019 y 2016.

La entrega de este vino está prevista en el segundo semestre de 2025.

Descripción
El viñedo de este 'château' se asoma al río Gironda beneficiándose así de la protección natural que le brindan las suaves temperaturas que se registran por su influencia.

Magnífico afloramiento de grava cuaternaria sobre un subsuelo arcilloso.
Rendimiento
30 hectolitros por hectárea.
Cosecha
Vendimia manual del 8 al 23 de septiembre.
Vinificación
Después del despalillado, las uvas se seleccionan cuidadosamente para pasar a cubas de madera termorreguladas separadamente por parcelas para la fermentación y maceración.
Envejecimiento
Entre 16 y 18 meses de crianza en barricas de roble francés (el 60% nuevas).

Opinión de los críticos

James Suckling:

Deep fruit, dark spices and graphite with wide yet polished, linear tannins. Full-bodied and intense with depth and structure. Long and chalky at the end. Big wine.

Decanter:

Supple and lively, this has energy and intensity from the start. Clean and precise, well worked, cool and fresh with tannins that do well to give the frame and structure without overwhelming the fruit. Really nice this year, good movement and liveliness, rich fruit but juicy and fun. Doesn't take itself too seriously and I really like it!! Harvest 8-23 September. Yield of 30hl/ha. Ageing in French oak, 60% new.

The first vintage produced in the estate's new winery, which more than doubled the number of vats, permitting sub-plot by sub-plot vinification, the brilliant 2022 Langoa Barton offers up aromas of dark berries, cassis, violets and cigar wrapper, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and fleshy palate endowed with terrific depth and tension. Polished and penetrating, it should match or even surpass the 2019 and 2016 vintages, and it is sure to be one of the more intelligent purchases of the en primeur campaign.
