Vignoble et élaboration

Description
Vignobles à environ 480 à 520 mètres d'altitude.
Sol
Profonds, riches en argile.
Climat
L'hiver humide a permis aux plantes de garder une activité métabolique intense même pendant l'été chaud. Les pluies de fin août ont fait baisser la température en général, ce qui a provoqué une grande variation thermique diurne. La maturation s'est poursuivie de manière impeccable tout au long du mois de septembre, permettant une vendange saine et régulière.
Vinification
Fermentation pendant 10 jours dans des cuves tronconiques en inox et des cuves en béton à basse température (max. 23 °C). 5 jours de macération en plus.
Elevage
12 mois dans de grands fûts de chêne français.

Coming from the more sandy and fertile soils in the lowest part of the vineyards (the first vineyards they harvest), the 2022 Rosso Di Montalcino is a bright ruby red color and opens to fresh aromas of ripe cherries, fresh herbs, and licorice. Medium-bodied, it retains good ripeness and has fine tannins, with notes of apricot on the palate and a clean, orange citrus-toned finish. It‘s a very appealing Rosso that’s ready to drink now or over the coming 5-6 years.

Decanter:

Fragrant and full on the nose. Bright and lifted on the palate, really forward and intense but in a juicy, fun way. This has energy and verve, a lovely filling wine with plenty of sour strawberry and fleshy strawberry elements. Great with food and a lovely wine for the price point. Feels very natural and well worked, not trying too hard and nothing obscuring it's fruity nature with high acidity all the way through. Clean and crisp.
