The Wine Advocate:

2021 was a cooler vintage with fresher wines, as seen in the 2021 Vetus, which is a selection of their best soils, mostly Tempranillo co-fermented with small quantities of Garnacha. It has 14.52% alcohol, a pH of 3.71 and 5.18 grams of acidity, parameters of balance in this more elegant version of their eponymous wine. It has ripe berry fruit, spices and notes of wild herbs and is powerful without excess, fine-boned and with fine tannins. It matured for 12 months in French oak barrels from some of the best coopers, one-third of them new. 12,875 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022. (Luis Gutiérrez)

James Suckling:

Rich dark cherries, blackberries, crushed stones and dark chocolate. Juicy and broad on the palate, with a full body and a fleshy fruit core. Dusty, firm tannins throughout. Lengthy finish. Already approachable. Drink now, but can hold. (Zekun Shuai)
