The Wine Advocate:
The 2018 Viña Pomal Reserva combines modern and more classical characteristics, showing ripe black fruit, sweet spices and smoke along with some developed notes of forest floor and dry leaves. It has contained ripeness, 14% alcohol and a polished texture after having spent 18 months in American oak barrels, 20% of them new. 350,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2021. A ripe, plummy nose of hazelnuts, chocolate and dusty spices. Juicy and medium-bodied on the palate, with a fluid fruit core and a chewy bite of tannins at the end. Vegan. Drink now. (Zekun Shuai)
