Triacca Riserva La Gatta 2016

Here's a Riserva that draws its fruit from the high mountain terraced vineyards in one of the northernmost corners of Italy. The Triacca 2016 Valtellina Superiore Riserva La Gatta is a gorgeous wine that strikes that magical balance between power and elegance. The wine is beautifully precise and polished with well-articulated notes of wild cherry, cassis and mountain herb. Much of the wine's linearity and its sharp focus come from those lingering mineral notes of crushed slate or granite that add salty notes to the finish. The wine is compact, lean and beautifully fresh, to be tasted with a soft Alpine cheese such as Fiorone della Valsassina on rosemary crackers.
