Descripción

Nos encontramos ante un tinto de paraje elaborado por la familia Estévez en homenaje a su familiar, el escritor y pensador Antonio Estévez. Este coupage presenta aromas a fruta roja (cereza, fresa y frambuesa) y flores (violeta y rosa) sobre fondo balsámico. En boca es fresco y equilibrado.

Uno de los viñedos más altos del pueblo que brinda perfiles florales y elegantes. Plantado a una altitud de 680 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Conducción en vaso y orientación oeste.

Edad media de 75 años.
Suelo
Arcilloso con alto contenido en hierro y presencia de cantos rodados.
Vinificación
En depósito abierto de acero inoxidable de 1000 litros sin control de temperatura. Fermentación alcohólica espontánea con levaduras autóctonas y maloláctica en barricas de roble francés de 500 litros.
Envejecimiento
Crianza de 12 meses en barricas de roble francés de 500 litros.
Embotellado
Enero de 2025.

The Wine Advocate:

The 2023 Versos de Valtuille Casares was produced with the grapes from the highest-altitude vineyard they have at close to 600 meters above sea level. There are some 8% white grapes and 7% Alicante Bouschet in the field blend, and they fermented together with the Mencía, with 20% full clusters and indigenous yeasts in 1,000-liter oak vats. The wine matured in two well-seasoned 500-liter oak barrels for one year. Last year it was my favorite, and again it seems like one of the most complete of their bottlings. It has the profile of finesse from 2023, but this year, the La Vitoriana and Mata Los Pardos showed better. It has a moderate 12.8% alcohol with a pH of 3.55 and five grams of acidity, improving the parameters this year. This is one of their finest vineyards. 1,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2025.
