Este Grand Cru está elaborado con la variedad Merlot y un pequeño aporte de Cabernet franc. Estamos ante un vino que sorprende por su frutosidad tanto en nariz como en boca, al igual que por su agradable frescura. Su potencial de guarda es muy alto.

Nariz
Elegante nariz de vainilla, notas tostadas y crema de cassis.
Boca
Seduce por su frescura y su textura sedosa, con un paso suave y delicadamente acidulado. La estructura es fina, con taninos perfectamente integrados, que proporcionan un final ascendente.
Temperatura de servicio
Se recomienda servir a 16 ºC.

Esta añada 2024 concilia rigor y vigor, en un año marcado por los contrastes climáticos. El equilibrio fue frágil y exigió ajustes precisos para preservar la frescura y la madurez de la fruta, manteniendo al mismo tiempo una sanidad impecable del viñedo.
Cosecha
Vendimia realizada entre el 25 de septiembre y el 5 de octubre de 2024.
Vinificación
Vinificación por parcelas con extracciones suaves en cubas de acero inoxidable termorreguladas.
Envejecimiento
Crianza prevista de 18 meses en barricas nuevas.

Opinión de los críticos

Decanter:

A softly perfumed nose with raspberry and cranberry elements. Crisp and crunchy, bright and shining, an almost sweet burst to the acidity with clean red berry fruit and lots of lifted freshness. A touch more density than Fonbel, with layers of mint, blueberry and liquorice. Well made with just a friendly, fun, and charming acidity. A touch sleek and lean towards the finish just becoming a bit more serious and spiced with lots of minerality but I like this. Very good. A yield of 35hl/ha. West exposure. Ageing 100% new oak. 3.5pH.

Jeb Dunnuck:

I loved the 2024 Château Moulin Saint-Georges, a juicy, elegant, and perfumed Saint-Émilion loaded with upfront red and black fruits, spicy wood, spring flowers, and chalky minerality. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it's not massive, but it has present yet integrated oak, fine tannins, and outstanding length.

James Suckling:

Attractive freshness and medium density with creamy texture, red-cherry character and a sliced-orange undertone. Medium-bodied, this has a crisp finish and some salt too. A blend of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.

Falstaff:

Shining ruby, purple reflexes, broad rim brightening. Delicate notes of blackberry, a hint of dark cherry, tobacco nuances, candied orange zest. Fresh, lively structure, red cherry fruit, delicate currant, mineral-salty, a light-footed food companion.

Tim Atkin:

Plenty of plum and black raspberry fruit aromas with some hoisin and peppercorn. Plum juiciness in the mouth with sinewy tannins and very fresh floral acidity. This somewhat lighter style really suits the Vaulthier properties and the fruitiness and mid-weight alcohol is to their advantage. Very lovely fresh long finish.
