Aquellos que buscan un margaux armonioso, inmediato, con un encanto juvenil y buena fluidez tienen en Château du Tertre su vino. Esta añada ha sido sumamente difícil para los elaboradores pero su sapiencia se ha impuesto y el resultado es un gran vino.

Nariz
Las primeras impresiones son de aromas de frutos negros, humo sutil y notas de cacao crudo. Sofisticado y complejo.
Boca
El paladar es intenso y denso con una acidez impresionante y una gran persistencia. La nobleza del Cabernet sauvignon aporta pureza frutal y una frescura de regaliz. Los taninos, elegantes y suaves, son también expresión de este ensamblaje en el que cada variedad deja su huella.
Temperatura de servicio
Se recomienda servir a 16 °C.

52 hectárea, 18 biodinâmicas.

Viñas viejas plantadas entre 1961 y 1965.
Suelo
Lomas de grava perfectamente drenadas.
Clima
Continental. 2024 fue una añada complicada por las altas precipitaciones del final del ciclo.
Cosecha
Vendimia manual del 24 de septiembre al 8 de octubre de 2024.
Vinificación
Fermentación en depósitos de roble, acero inoxidable y hormigón. Extracciones suaves, remontados tradicionales durante 20 días de maceración.
Envejecimiento
Crianza prevista de unos 16 meses en barricas de roble, el 60% nuevas y el 40% de un uso.

Opinión de los críticos

James Suckling:

Pure, juicy fresh fruit with roasted spices, berries and dark cherries. Bright, crunchy and tight. Lovely tension in the middle with properly framed tannins. Long finish. 75% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc, 13% merlot and 2% petit verdot.

Decanter:

Lifted fragrance - blackcurrants and cherries on the nose. Tannins have a soft chew and fleshiness to them with clear and cool fruit providing the main focus. There’s bright acidity with a mouthwatering edge that is so enjoyable before salty, tobacco aspects come in on the finish. Well made with precision and still enough fruit and flavour to be enjoyable. It’s likely ageing will add a touch more structure. Very good. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Ageing 60% new oak. 60% production. 3.6pH. Tasted three times. - Georgina Hindle. 

The Wine Advocate:

A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2024 du Tertre unwinds in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, a touch of licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, with sweet tannins and good depth for the vintage, it's the result of a harvest that began on September 24 and concluded on October 8. - William Kelley. 

La Revue du Vin de France:

La signature du Tertre s’affine et le vin poursuit dans la définition de son style. L’attaque offre une jolie ampleur, la trame est droite, les tanins salins et la finale juteuse, avec la marque épicée du cabernet franc en finale. Un ensemble de belle tenue.

Floral, élégant, précis, bien vinifié et fait pour attendre le développement idéal des vins les plus complets du millésime.

Vinous:

The 2024 Château du Tertre has a delineated and focused bouquet, with pure black plum, blueberry fruit and violet aromas. The oak is prudently used. The palate is medium-bodied with a bit of chewiness on the entry and light grip. This attenuates slightly toward the finish but there is freshness and sapidity. Not a long-term du Tertre but I think it is well made. - Neal Martin. 

Falstaff:

Dark ruby, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim. Red berries, red currants, fresh meadow herbs, floral nuances. Lean, red berry notes, a hint of strawberries, freshly structured, slightly spicy herbal finish.

Tim Atkin:

Inky and spicy aromas with dense blue fruit and extract. Juicy blackberries and cool mint. Well judged tannins in harmony with the fruit weight and with a silkiness of texture on the palate. A terrific performance for the vintage.
