Tim Atkin:

Decidedly orange blossom aromas with some acacia and nut brittle. Plenty of saffron and vanilla from oak as well. Great depth and purity despite the multi-layered complexity. Excellent botrytis flavours of marzipan and dried apricot. Palate flooding depth and sweetness (est. 135 g/L) and breadth with a wonderful satin texture and length. I loved Coutet last year, and I love it again this. Fabulous wine.

Falstaff:

Medium yellow gold, silver reflections. Fresh tropical fruit, white fruit, floral touch, fine blossom honey, pleasant meadow herb spice. Juicy, silky and elegant, ripe peach, fresh structure, lingers for a long time, a promise for the future.

Decanter:

Orange blossom and lemon rind on the nose, soft and gentle aromatics. Clean and fresh, this has a lovely purity to it, not so sweet with some bitterness that comes in on the mid palate but this has a sleek frame and good definition to the elements. Pear, peach and a hint of honeyed orange. Pure and pristine. - Georgina Hindle.

Bettane & Desseuve:

James Suckling:

Dried mangoes, pineapple, sweet lemons and some dried durian. Nicely unctuous with a long, flavorful finish. Waxy and medium- to full-bodied for a Barsac.

Vinous:

The 2024 Coutet was picked over six tries although the final ones were not used with 134 g/L residual sugar this year. It has quite an intense bouquet with beautifully defined lemon thyme and light peach aromas. The palate is well balanced with a vivacious opening, lively apricot and quince notes and concentration effortlessly offset by the silver thread of acidity. Composed and persistent on the finish, this is a superb Coutet. - Neal Martin.
